Matt completed his Master’s Degree in Graphic Design at North Carolina State University, where he focused on building understanding and providing platforms for democratic participation through the process of visualizing public policy issues. Since then, he’s worked with the organizers of the U.S. National Design Policy Initiative on researching the Federal Design Improvement Program of the 1970s, designing explanatory policy visualizations and publications, as well as helping to facilitate their Summit last November. A graduate of the College of Design at North Carolina State University, Scott has worked in several niche industries such as sports marketing and medical communications, as well as for several mainstream agencies in the Triangle area. During his time on the AIGA Raleigh board as Programming Director, he helped orchestrate the re|THINK initiative, an environmental advocacy poster show. He’s also locally promoted AIGA’s Get Out the Vote Initiative, a nonpartisan voting advocacy campaign for the 2008 election. He now serves on the chapter’s advisory board and focuses on supporting future projects that harness creative thinking in service of large community issues.

Carol Strohecker is Director of the Center for Design Innovation, an inter-institutional research center of the University of North Carolina. She is a graduate of the MIT Media Lab, with 20+ years’ experience in technology-based innovation. She earned Fellowships with Harvard University Graduate School of Design, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Artists Foundation of the Massachusetts Council for the Arts and Humanities. Carol has also served as a juror for the European Commission, US National Science Foundation, Harvard GSD, MIT Department of Architecture, Rhode Island School of Design, and ACM Interaction Design Awards.

Ms. Stover is dedicated to promoting human-ecological relationships in order to create a sustainable culture. Her integrative work includes designing processes that combine the arenas of ecological intelligence, design aptitude and community participation or greenscheming.
Ms. Stover holds a B.S. from Purdue University and a M.S. in Human Ecology (magna cum laude) from Vrije Univrsiteit Brussels, Brussels, Belgium. She has also done post graduate study in Ecological Design at North Carolina State University.
Ms. Stover has lived and worked in four countries: Australia, India, Egypt and Belgium. Since 1992 she has worked in Greensboro and worked with allied professionals to facilitate integrated thinking and design processes or greenscheming. She is a certified trainer in the Technologies of Participation (ToP®) and a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators.
John Rushton
Hailing from Portsmouth, Virginia, John spent many years in the artistic settings of New York, NY, Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA before making Lewisville, North Carolina his permanent home. John has over 20 years experience as an actor, posting regional theatre performances across the US. He has also been featured in numerous commercial campaigns and as a film actor has worked with Michael Keaton, Nick Nolte, Rae Dawn Chong, Pierce Brosnan, Robert Wagner, Christopher Walken, Cliff Robertson, Jacklyn Smith and the late Natalie Wood. He recently finished production on the feature films, Little Chicago and the SciFi thriller, Eyeborgs with Adrian Paul and Danny Trejo. John’s acting prowess took him to Los Angeles in the early 1990’s where he combined a wealth of business and advertising experience with his artistic roots and accepted the position of Executive Director of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers in Southern California. In this stead, John produced and directed Sober Prom, a touring, multi-media presentation performed yearly to high schools in California. Included in this presentation were PSA’s and shorts, written and produced by Mr. Rushton staring cast members from the then top-rated television show, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Connie Seleca and husband, John Tesh. John also worked with the late Gene Siskel, Roger Ebert and Leeza Gibbons on the nationally acclaimed television special, Siskel and Ebert Look at Substance Abuse in the Movies, which he Co-Produced as well as producing bi-lingual programming for community activist groups in Southern California. read more…
